Hola gue!
Was in the studio at Loyola Marymount the night before last recording my song 1934 with student producer Nick Tessieri. The session went really great and we tracked the entire song from scratch. I will post it as soon as it is mixed. I’ve also been trying to put together a great live set using my beats as much as possible, in preparation for my performance on Saturday at the Yoga fest in Santa Monica. It should be a lot of fun and will be my first real time doing yoga, though i feel like i could really get into it.
Other than that, my life has been focused on finishing up with school and more importantly, FINDING A JOB!!!! Ick. Basically, i’m open to any opportunity available in any city that seems cool. Unfirtunately in this economy, that isn’t the easiest thing to do. Seems like a good time to pursue music right??? Seems like it.
Shalom!
Its a beautiful Thursday in LA. I have a couple charity gigs coming up the following two saturdays. One is for “relay for life” a cancer fundraiser. The other is for some Yoga thing… not exactly sure the details on it yet, but i think i’m going to be able to do some yoga! I’ve been wanting to try it for a long time now, so maybe this well be the jump start i need to hop on the yoga wagon. I’ve also been getting into Yerba Matte since i returned from Colorado. Its the midway between tea and coffee and its great! Picks you up and doesn’t bring you down. I think things that start with Y are just better for you generally.
Yogurt….yerba matte……yoga……..i think those are the only words spelled that begin with y period. i can’t think of any others.
The more i think about it, the more i’m getting excited about the city of portland and the possibility of moving there. I spoke with some of my hometown friends who live up there now and do music and they are having reasonable success.
Also, I’m thinking about puttig together a west coast tour this summer. I’d like to hit PHX, San Diego, LA, San Fran, Portland, and Seattle. Does anybody have any suggestions for places to play or people to talk to to make this happen?
In the mean time, i have some homework to do. It sucks, but perhaps i should relish it? Less than one month of homework for the rest of my life. Yikes. I’m gonna need more Yerba matte though. And another word that starts with Y…. yikes.
Returned from Colorado yesterday and am back in LA for the rest of the month. Colorado was amazing. THe people are friendly, the food is amazing, and the beer is the best. Its a great place. We talked our way into seeing The Wailers for free at a the Fort Collins music festival. If you say your from LA, you can do anything in Colorado. We also saw a number of other bands during the weekend, but most of them were not all that great, but people still get really into it. I played a small fireside concert in Boulder and that was a blast. I was suprised that people had heard my music there before.
