Close to Done

October 1st, 2008

The Album is near done.  I have a few final touches and things to do before i go into the mixing and mastering process, but other than that, i’m really happy with what i have.  I recorded my vocals a few weeks a go with a producer named Jim Roach.  He’s an awesome guy and I loved working with him and got practically everything i needed from our sessions.   The artwork is looking good too.  Just wanted to let people know I;m getting close.

Peace,

Dan

Music done for new album

August 25th, 2008

Hey All,

The music for the upcoming album is officially done.  I just returned to LA with twelve tracks of music.  I still, however, have to record vocals for all of it so I’m currently looking for a studio to do them in here in LA.  That means all there is left to do is record vox, mix and master.   I’ve also started working on Album art a bit, so hopefully that turns out well too.

I’d like to ask everybody to go to www.thenextbigsound.com.  Its a really cool website where you join for free, and play “music mogul.”  There is an array of unsigned bands on the site so its a good way to hear new music, and as a mogul, you sign the artist you like and recieve points for doing so.  I’m currently in 5th place on the site, so please join and sign me so I can move up the ranks.  Search for “Canyons.”

I’ll keep in touch more often now that I don’t live in my internetless recording studio.

Peace,

Daniel

Album Update

July 19th, 2008

Hi All,
Sorry I haven’t been updating regularly.  This summer has by far been the busiest of my life.  I’ve been staying busy with work and recording.  Home base this summer has been at “j-z’z Studio” which is located above my Grandma’s garage.  I’ve got a pretty great set up up there with all sorts of instruments at my finger tips and I just finished recording all my demos with me playing everything.  Drums, bass, guitar, and all other various instruments. I would consider it a rough draft. Now I have to go back and essentially redo everything.  I’m heading to a recording studio in an hour to begin recording drums with Eddy Barattini, which is the first step.  Then after the drums are done, bassist Sean Neesely will lay down some fly bottom end t tracks.  I just bought some new equipment which will allow me to record guitars and hopefully vocals up in J-Z’z.  This biggest problem right now is that i just don’t have much time left this summer.

I will be putting up tracks that won’t make the album in the next couple weeks.
